This is not specific training but we’ve been offering our Auxiliary Board “field trips” to specific areas of our organization (Simulation Lab; Robotic Surgery; new facility, etc.).  The directors of these areas share info and in most cases a quick demo.   This provides our Auxiliary/volunteers with great insight, makes them feel engaged with a little behind the scenes access.  It has also let to funding opportunities for our Auxiliary.

This is a great idea! Thanks, Heather!

Provide education/information about programs or services in your hospital (we educate them on community outreach events, heartburn clinic, cardiac rehab, wellness center, wound center etc.)  Figure if the volunteers know about the programs, they will share with others

"Working with different generations and how to get along (communication styles etc.)

I look at it from an education standpoint from what they need to be survey ready and the ins and outs of the facility polices, but also the opportunity to "remind" them the importance of taking care of themselves (self help).  YOu get tired about hearing about policy and procedure all the time!  I know i do!

Thanks, Julie! I like the information / educational programs and services our hospital offers and the communication styles.

    Hello!

I'm trying to get some new ideas for educational programming for our volunteers. This is an aside to the mandatory training. Trainings I have offered in the past have included Brain Health and Dementia, Active Shooter Training, CPR training, etc. What kinds of programming have you offered? Thanks in advance!
