We have a very small crafters program, and as of right now it is manageable. We do however, sort of put the ownership on the volunteer. Any handmade items must be constructed / sewn from new material. The material must be laundered, or the item must be washed prior to accepting the item. Each item must be in a sealed in a zip lock bag or clear bag. Individuals who make and donate items are required to provide their contact information. Anyone who donates on a routine basis, are required to go through the process of onboarding to become a volunteer.

Is anyone running a crafting program alongside their hospital in-person volunteering?  Annually we have over 300 community crafting volunteers that provide thousands of items: baby hats, prayer shawls, neck pillows, ouch pouches etc.

Overseeing this scope of services from quality control to sanitizing has become a large bulk of time we need to reduce and streamline.  All feedback is welcome!
