At UH Cleveland Medical Center we have recently lost a couple of positions.   We currently have a director, three coordinators, an office coordinator and a part time administrative assistant.  We had a full time pet pals coordinator but her position has been moved to the system and the manager position was eliminated in January when I retired and the manager, Carol Passerell, was promoted to director.  Additionally our gift shop manager recently retired and his position is not going to be filled.  We had previously hired a coordinator for the gift shops and she will be managing both of our stores.  We have 5 hospitals on our campus - including a children's hospital and a cancer hospital. The VSD also has responsibility for processing student observers and as an academic medical center, we have many!  We typically have 1,000+ volunteers each year.

We currently have 7 staff members for volunteer services at The Wexner Medical Center and are currently running about 760 active volunteers and working on growing with a new hospital tower opening. I hope you can get another staff member, because that will be so great for recruiting and retention!

I have a Secretary who works 26 hours per week at St. Anne and a Gift Shop Coordinator at St. Charles who works 24 hours per week.  I am working with HR to get her title changed to Admin Coordinator as she also helps with the Volunteer Dept.
